CCAC Review
by David Priver CCAC Secretary and Marina Residential Owner Occupant Representatives

Quiet Zone: Are we getting anywhere?

Steve Hills, aide to City Councilman Kevin Faulconer, was unable to provide any updated information on the status of this long-awaited project. He has promised a report at the next meeting.

Leash-free dog park envisioned

Dean Coker, CCDC Advance Planning Manager reported on a proposed project to locate and create a site for such a park. CCAC will be recruiting members to sit on a planning committee.

CCAC to move to new quarters

Starting in July, CCAC will be meeting in its new location, the Wells Fargo Building. As the current site will be in use as a staging area on June 18, the meeting is being changed to June 11.

Little Italy wine bar approved by CCAC

Following a detailed report by staff and the San Diego Police Department, CCAC voted unanimously to recommend a Conditional Use Permit for UNWINE which will be located on Kettner Boulevard in Little Italy.

Sara Frances Hotel judged to be adequate for homeless seniors

Following a request at its last meeting, a site visit was carried out by staff. It was determined that the hotel met minimal standards for occupancy by homeless seniors. CCAC voted unanimously to recommend funding of the Housing Vouchers Program.

Street Scene returns to Tailgate Park approved conditionally

Promoter Rob Hagey presented his request for approval of a return of this musical event to a Downtown location after a four-year absence. There was lengthy discussion in which serious problems with crowd control, trash, and alcohol were emphasized. CCAC voted to recommend approval under the following conditions: Reasonable plans for advance street closures; limitations on the number of tickets sold; safe and enforceable plans for crowd control; and adequate plans for security deposits and trash disposal.
