Welcome to Viva-city and Downtown San Diego

Neighborhood - Columbia

Map

Columbia San Diego

Until recently, the Columbia neighborhood saw few residents, and was dominated more by Class-A office buildings and courthouses, encompassing world-class design.

However, with the addition of residential high rises, the district has become more a neighborhood.

Where we are Inspired

Aircraft Carrier Memorial

Harbor Drive near G Street Mole

Blue Ice Sculpture

Blue Ice

Silent sentinels stand, spaced neatly along 655 West Broadway, five in a row. As you walk amidst them, the ice within will intrigue you. Each ice sculpture sits atop a marble pillar, and is encased in glass, much like the rose of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Each sculpture is unique, no two are alike: one resembles a hearty cabbage unfolding, while another looks more like a giant gem, still rough around the edges, not yet shaped by a jeweler.

Should you look at them from different angles, you will also find that the colors shift in places – ice blue, to lavender, to turquoise...making the pieces of ice even more magical.
